Refunds & Cancellation

Effective April 24, 2026

This page describes the refund and cancellation policy for sponsorships of my open-source work. All sponsorships are processed through GitHub Sponsors and its payment processor (Stripe); I do not process or store your payment information directly.

Cancellation of recurring sponsorships

You can cancel a recurring monthly sponsorship at any time from your GitHub billing settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle — you will not be charged again, and no new payment is required from you to cancel.

Refund requests

Because sponsorships are voluntary contributions rather than purchases of a defined product, they are generally non-refundable once processed. However, I will consider a refund in good faith in the following cases:

  • The sponsorship was charged in error (duplicate charge, incorrect amount).
  • The sponsorship was made fraudulently or without authorization.
  • A recurring sponsorship charge was issued after a valid cancellation attempt.
  • Any other scenario where a refund is required under applicable consumer-protection law.

To request a refund, email nikkyamresh8@gmail.com within 14 days of the charge with:

  • Your GitHub username.
  • The approximate date and amount of the sponsorship.
  • A brief description of why you are requesting a refund.

I will respond within 5 business days. Approved refunds are issued through GitHub / Stripe back to the original payment method and typically appear within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer.

Chargebacks

If you initiate a chargeback with your bank or card issuer before contacting me, I will not be able to process a refund directly; the dispute will be resolved through GitHub and Stripe’s chargeback process. Please try emailing me first — it is faster for both of us.

Changes to perks or availability

Sponsorship perks (such as early access to drafts or occasional update emails) are offered on a best-effort basis and may change over time. If a perk is materially reduced or discontinued and you believe that justifies a refund, email me and I will review the request in good faith.
