Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of nikkyamresh.github.io (the “Site”) and any sponsorship you make to Nikky Amresh (“I”, “me”, or “my”) through GitHub Sponsors. By using the Site or sponsoring the work, you agree to these Terms.

1. About the Site

The Site is a personal portfolio, writing, and sponsorship page operated as an individual by Nikky Amresh, based in Bangalore, India. It is not a company. Content on the Site is provided for informational purposes only.

2. Sponsorship

Sponsorship is a voluntary contribution processed by GitHub Sponsors and their payment processor (Stripe). Details of what sponsorship supports, and the tiers available, are described on the sponsor page. Sponsorship is not a contract for deliverables, a service agreement, or a consulting engagement.

Any perks listed for a tier (such as early access to drafts or an occasional update email) are offered on a best-effort basis, are not guaranteed to be delivered within any timeframe, and may be changed or discontinued at any time.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Site to violate any applicable law or regulation.
• Attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the Site or its infrastructure.
• Submit fraudulent payment information or attempt payment fraud through the sponsorship flow.
• Use any content from the Site for commercial purposes without written permission, except where content is explicitly licensed (for example, open-source code linked from the Site, which is governed by its own license).

4. Intellectual property

All content on the Site — writing, design, code examples, and images — is owned by Nikky Amresh unless attributed otherwise. Open-source projects linked from the Site are governed by the licenses declared in their respective repositories.

5. Third-party services

The Site links to third-party services including GitHub, GitHub Sponsors, Stripe, LinkedIn, CTFtime, and others. I am not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of third-party services. Payments are processed by GitHub Sponsors and Stripe under their own terms.

6. Disclaimers

The Site and any sponsorship perks are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Information on the Site may contain inaccuracies and is not professional advice.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, in no event shall Nikky Amresh be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Site or any sponsorship. Total liability for any claim arising out of these Terms shall not exceed the amount you have paid in sponsorship in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

8. Changes to these Terms

These Terms may be updated from time to time. The “Effective” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Bangalore, Karnataka, India.
